Mason Pike is an up and comer in the country music scene but leaves Nashville knowing that a serious alcohol addiction is approaching. He moves back to his hometown and settles down, marrying and having a child. Leaving the alcohol and country music behind, he surrenders to a calling into the ministry. On top of the world his life begins to crumble. After the birth of his child, he connects with his father, whom he has never met. They build a strong, close relationship. The trials start with the death of his mother, his biggest supporter. Soon after his father is diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. The story follows the relationship between father and son and Mason trying to get his dad saved. After the death of his father Mason begins to question why God took his mother and why He allowed a relationship to be built with his dad, only to have it torn apart so quickly. Flashbacks reveal to Mason that even when he was lost and without God that God was protecting him and that God had faith in the man he would become. As Mason begins to understand the faith God saw in a seemingly hopeless individual, he begins to see it's time for him to have complete faith in God.
